[The Exorcist is still probably stuck in that room cut off from the rest. That quiet, quiet room where nothing seems to be working. The fake sun hasn't even bother to rise or fall within the last few days, weeks, or was it months? The electricity had gone out forcing him to use candles and fireplaces for means of light.

It was probably a distressing few days if it hadn't been even more distressing before that.

Something lights up on a wall though. It is faint at first at a singular point, but that point begins to move and expand. It expands and draws lines of light on the wall. Most are circular in nature, but they do tend to crisscross around each other.

In the end a huge magical symbol taller than he is stands firmly etched on the wall.]

Ha. I'm glad you always do manage to think a few steps ahead.

[He reaches out to take a wrist from the Exorcist turning his palm face up.]

And how has this been treating you?

[With his palm up, it's easy to see the large scar dominating his wrist. Smaller scars also lace his hand, but those are mostly visible from the other side.

He flexes his hand. It's clearly very stiff and probably a little painful, but by all rights, he shouldn't be able to move it even that well.]

I won't be penning any letters, but I can get through the day.

What happened?

When I died in my world and the Dressing Room pulled me back, it didn't deign to bring my Innocence with me.

[He turns his hand over and back again, showing that it's truly Innocence-free. His tone, as he talks, is neutral.]

I was surprised to have it back the last time we talked, but it only lasted that long. I suspect it was fake.

[He pulls his hand up and kisses the inside of his wrist.]

At least you are out of the war. A small blessing.

I don't know if it's a blessing. It was something to do.

[He's kidding. He pulls his hand away after his wrist is kissed, but only to try to take the Noah's hand. Just to hold it in his lap.

If he can do that, though, he'll feel embarrassed after only a moment or two and let go.]

I'm sure you'll find more useful things to do with your time.

[He does allow it though when he lets go he will chuckle a bit.]

What is going through that mind of yours?

More useful than saving a world? My, I'll have to become a little more self-centered for that.

[He laughs a little. It's self-deprecating.] I'm used to leaving people -- usually on impulse -- or realizing someone is gone after the fact. I don't know what to do with already knowing I'll never see you again. [Also, he's a little touch-starved.]

Now, now, you honestly didn't care that much about saving the world.

Best part. You probably won't even remember. It really works out in your favor.

[Smiles.] Well, I didn't want anyone else to destroy it until I was done with it. That's something like saving it, isn't it?

Oh? That's true; maybe I'll forget this time. [Considering this.] If that's how it works, I wonder if I'll start from scratch.

... Not that it's useful to think about it beforehand. I suppose I should stop putting this off and pick a place. Any restrictions?

It is something. And it would be hypocritical of me to judge your motives.

No restrictions at all. Just start describing to me what you would like. I'll see if I can think of a place or can find one.

Hmm... I'd like the kind of world where I can travel. Maybe something a little further into the future, or a little behind the times, but not so much so that I can't figure out how to live there a way I like.

I want a world with wars -- with something happening -- but not the same old war. I don't want a world where I'm likely to meet anyone else with our face.

I'd like a world big enough that I could never visit every city in my lifetime, and that still has room to grow.

Is that possible?

How far back would you like? Or would you like a different technology. Exchange your image boxes for horses that can fly or better yet, more than one race.

Ah... I don't want to go so far back that no one will know how to sew me up if I'm injured, or think it's witchcraft if I can. Flying horses or other races could be interesting.

You lost your weapon. I'm just trying to think of a place where you could get another. Might not be the same, and hopefully this time it won't have a mind of its own.

My Innocence wasn't the only weapon I ever knew, you realize? It was years before I learned how to use that one properly. Any world with guns or knives -- I might not be that skilled yet, but I'll have some sort of start.

I was leaning more towards magic if that was your fancy. Or do you think you wouldn't be ambitious enough to learn it?

I can learn anything you put in front of me. I just seem to... How should I put this? ... I seem to have a steeper learning curve for that.

But it might be different outside of the Dressing Room.

[He starts laughing suddenly.]

This is odd, isn't it. Letting me help decide your fate. How did it come to this?

Without you, I'd still be starving to death, alone, in a cold room with no light except for a fire I'd been fueling with broken pieces of furniture.

I'm not about to complain about this state of affairs.

... Although, to be fair, I'd probably ask your opinion in any case.

Despite our differences, it is nice to know that you realize I do know how to have fun.

Oh, I know you know how to have fun. It may not always be my idea of fun, but you know how.

That's only because sometimes you are on the unfortunate end of some of my ideas of fun.

Hmmm... Though I wonder. I heard of a world of worlds once. Might be more machines than you would like, but you can travel from planet to planet. I doubt you would ever get bored. Stranded or stuck, but hardly bored.

What do you mean by "world of worlds"? The closest thing I can imagine is another Dressing Room, but that doesn't sound quite the same.

Planets. Solar systems. That sort of thing.
