[The Exorcist is still probably stuck in that room cut off from the rest. That quiet, quiet room where nothing seems to be working. The fake sun hasn't even bother to rise or fall within the last few days, weeks, or was it months? The electricity had gone out forcing him to use candles and fireplaces for means of light.

It was probably a distressing few days if it hadn't been even more distressing before that.

Something lights up on a wall though. It is faint at first at a singular point, but that point begins to move and expand. It expands and draws lines of light on the wall. Most are circular in nature, but they do tend to crisscross around each other.

In the end a huge magical symbol taller than he is stands firmly etched on the wall.]

[His muscles creak when he unfolds himself from his spot on the floor in front of the fireplace, pausing to let the headrush pass. He'd broken down all the furniture that could be burned early on as best he could with his gutted hands, creating a stockpile, and he hadn't had much reason to move except to keep the embers glowing.

Watching the symbol expand is almost dizzying after watching nothing but the fireplace for... Well, he doesn't have a good way to judge the time. The sun was fickle. His few rooms and a courtyard had shrunk and shrunk over the probably-months until all he had left was this one little space, and while he can't remember this place leaving him any food since it had gotten this small, he hadn't yet become too starved to move.

... Maybe. It might be that none of this is happening. He could have finally cracked.

He decides it's better not to think about it.

He walks over to the huge magical symbol and runs a hand over part of it.]

[In the blink of an eye he is somewhere else.

It is a dark place. There is no sun, no moon, no stars, but somehow a purple light fills the area so that he can see. The ground underneath him is pure, black glass that makes no sound as he walk on it. In each distance there is nothing but featureless landscape until it ends in gray smoke blocking of his vision.

Well, in each direction but one.

Directly in front of him on a stone bench sits the Noah. He has his cane across his lap, one leg thrown over the other, and his top hat resting upon his head. He looks up at him under the brim of his hat with very golden eyes.]

Good evening.

[casexcard]

Is -- [His voice falters; it's rusty from disuse. He has to restart.] Is it evening? This doesn't look like the sort of place where time matters.

[solo_insanity]

[He moves over so that the other can sit down.]

But it is the sort of place where it can be evening if you want it to be.

[He settles onto the bench.]

Evening it is, then. Where are we?

A place between worlds. You can think of it as a sort of dead space.

[Reaching a hand to brush his hair back.]

You do look like you've seen better days.

[casexcard]

[He doesn't react except to close his eyes briefly.]

Maybe, but I've also had worse.

It's nice to see you.

It took a while, but I did manage to make this. And now for the hard question.

Where would you like to go?

Can I choose anywhere, and will you be coming with me?

[solo_insanity]

Almost anywhere, and no. This will probably be the last time we meet.

[casexcard]

Is it alright to stay here a little longer? Before I choose.

[solo_insanity]

Absolutely. Besides, I do have a request before you go.

[Tyki fishes in his pockets for cigarettes and a matches and hands it to him.]

In any case, I think you would want a world of your own, and I have a charge to look after.

[case_card]

[He nods in thanks, lights the cigarette, and visibly uncoils after the first drag. Hasn't had a cigarette in a while.]

Well, I wasn't asking for anything permanent from you; I just didn't want to cut this short. Against my better judgment, I did miss your company.

What request did you have in mind?

We did get along as well as two barn yard cats, didn't we? Though you missed me. Now I know you were starved for human contact.

[Said with jest before making a dismissive motion.]

I'll tell you when it is time. There is no need to rush.

I'm not quite as much of a hermit as you thought, hmm?

You can't say something like that without making me curious. If you don't want to tell me yet, I won't ask what it is, but I'm wondering why it needs to wait.

You and I still have the same core deep down. We need human contact. That is just how it is.

Because I'm requesting that you take something with you to your new home. That is why it can wait.

The Dressing Room didn't seem to think so, but it might have forgotten I was there.

By the way, how have you been? You're looking well.

Ah, yes, that can wait.

That place never cared for the comfort of its prisoners. Rarely places that can grab you without a moment's notice do.

Hmmm. Where did we last leave off? I told you of Sigil and my charge if I recall. Progress is still being made.

[case_card]

Oh? Exactly how many places have you been dragged to?

We did cover that. I hope things have been going better than they were the last time we saw each other; if I remember correctly, while Sigil sounded pleasant, life there still had its ups and downs.

A few. World hopping has always been a hobby of mine.

Life will always have its ups and downs. And to be honest, I'm not thrilled with having to say goodbye to you as well. We have known each other for quite some time.

[casexcard]

I'd say there's a difference between choosing to go from place to place and being dragged somewhere without asking. One can't be much of a hobby.

I'm not exactly thrilled, myself, but it was always going to be like this. We just happened to be walking in the same direction for a while. [A short pause.] Forgive me; I don't have any practice with goodbyes.

I'm getting better at it. I'm sure in time I'll refine it. Though I'm quite sure you won't be still alive when I do.

[He laughs at him.] You don't need to explain it. I've always been a little greedy, and knew that we would part ways one day.

[case_card]

What a pleasant thought -- and what a slow learner you are, if it will take you lifetimes to learn only one thing. Or do you think I'll trip and die the moment you leave me alone?

If you ask me, a little greediness isn't a flaw. Not wanting enough might be.

I want to see you learn how to do all this in your time off.

Perhaps I will. I need something to keep my attention now that I don't have a war to fight, don't I? Don't be surprised if I show up at your front door unannounced.
