[The Exorcist is still probably stuck in that room cut off from the rest. That quiet, quiet room where nothing seems to be working. The fake sun hasn't even bother to rise or fall within the last few days, weeks, or was it months? The electricity had gone out forcing him to use candles and fireplaces for means of light.

It was probably a distressing few days if it hadn't been even more distressing before that.

Something lights up on a wall though. It is faint at first at a singular point, but that point begins to move and expand. It expands and draws lines of light on the wall. Most are circular in nature, but they do tend to crisscross around each other.

In the end a huge magical symbol taller than he is stands firmly etched on the wall.]

Well, this isn't the kind of place a person lingers in, is it?

On that note, I should be going.

I do have a gift before you go.

[He hands him a letter with the words 'If you ever get tired of your world' on the front of it. It has a bit more weight than a letter.]

[He takes the letter.]

"In case of boredom, open letter," hmm? Do you mind if I look at this now, or would you rather I save it for the right time, if it ever comes?

At least I knew it was going to catch your attention.

I'll tell you what is in it, a piece of the Ark. You will most likely loose your memories upon going to another world. Though you may be lucking and not. In either case, this is a chance for you to decide you didn't like the world I picked for you and would want another.

In short, using that piece of the Ark will bring you back to me and we can try again if you like.

[Shrugging with a smile.]

Sometimes I just like to leave doors ajar when I can.

I appreciate it. I can make a life anywhere, of course, but it's nice to know I have an out if I need one.

[And then he looks sheepish.]

My, what is that look for? Now where is the confident Exorcist I have grown to know so well?

[Completely teasing.]

[He chuckles.]

That confident Exorcist has apparently taken off in favor of an overly sentimental one.

[Putting a hand on his shoulder.]

You've had a rough couple of years. Not to say it didn't have it ups and downs it just seems you never got a break from either of the two.

And I am fond of you so I do wish you the best on this adventure you are about to start. And if you do want to come back, open the envelope. I'll be around for much longer than you anyway.

I will say, I do feel a little guilty about how much time over the years you've spent either helping me or being antagonized by me. I'm sorry for that. If I can't even the score, I can at least try to keep your efforts now from being wasted, hmm?

I wouldn't have done it if there was no interest in my end, you know. So don't start feeling guilty on my behalf now.

And of most of the people I know, I think you deserve a very nice break from your troubles. And who knows. Maybe after I'm done, I'll stop on by to see how you are doing.

Oh, I understand that much about you, but I can't help thinking that things didn't pan out quite the way you seemed to want. If it's no matter, though, then it's no matter.

[He smiles.] I won't mind a guest -- but if it turns out I've lost my memory, you'll have some explaining to do. [After a beat, his smile fades in favor of a quizzical look.] ... What do you mean, 'after you're done'? After you're done with what?

I find nothing truly turns out the way I plan. In the end, I think that is better.

[He laughs a little.]

You remember our friend, the third of us. He's going home, and I did tell him I would help. I imagine I'll have my hands full for a while.

[He blinks.] Ah. I'm surprised he's going home, but I probably shouldn't be. The little I knew about his world -- things seemed terrible for him, but maybe unfinished... No, I'm still surprised. You two seemed close.

I care for him a great deal, and he is willing to allow me to come for the ride. That and he needs the help and has no one else to guide him.

And perhaps it is something I should do. I all but killed the last incarnation of my family. All the students I took back in the forsaken building all went insane. I should get it right once before I move on, right?

[A wry smile.] Is it wrong to wish you good luck in that? But I wonder, after you "get it right," what then?

I'm taking the whole family and moving to a secluded house in a nice valley. Hopefully we will never be heard from again and we live happily ever after.

Or something similar.

My world destroying days are quite in the past. Wouldn't want to repeat the same trick.

Well... Something like that could either be rather dull and depressing or very peaceful. A very retiring life. I hope it's the better end of things for you.

I'd tell you to come visit me once you're settled, but it does sound like it might take quite a while.

I'm going to have more than a half a dozen people from an insane asylum turned prison. Peaceful might not be the word I would use.

[Chuckling.]

I was promised traveling. Perhaps we can both stop by and we can harass you into thinking you are seeing triple.

Peaceful relative to warmongering, then.

Oh, you'd spend your time trying to convince me I'm mad? Assuming I forget this time, that is. I never have before... Actually, I wonder if I'd forget my home world, too. Start completely from scratch.

Did you want to? You are starting over and that is a service I can provide.

But I imagine you would spend your days wondering why your wrists are like they are. You'd probably break the mental barrier I put up because you can be persistent when you want to be.

It's tempting -- it would be worse if I only remembered part of my life than if I remembered none of it at all -- but I'll take my chances. If it turns out poorly, I can always ask you to try another time, can't I?

That is the idea.

And you will watch out for her, won't you? She's had it almost as rough as you. Perhaps more.

Don't worry. I'll keep an eye on her. Maybe, outside of the Dressing Room, she'll be a little more... stable.

At the worst, I can explain her away as my poor, mad half-sister, traveling on the idea that some fresh air might do her some good. Something of the sort.

Ah, then will you do me one more favor?

You should give her a new name. And maybe yourself one as well.

I know you don't consider me another version of yourself, but not letting me use my own name in another world seems harsh.

[He's kidding.]

Well, well, it's not as though I've never used an alias before. I'd have to change at least her name if I claim he's my sister, too.
