He'd been looking over his shoulder all day. Tyki didn't know why. It just felt like someone was watching him, but every time he looked there wasn't anything out of the ordinary. It was the same dusty streets. The same dusty market. The same dusty town he 'retired' to and called his home.

He sighed.

It wasn't until he was paying (dropping really considering the state of his hands) a few copper pieces for vegetables and bread that he spotted what had been following him. Not that the figure was hard to spot when he was out in the open. Long, black trench coat --- shouldn't he melting in this weather? ---, top hat --- no one wears one of those here, idiot! ---, and even cane.

No!

The internal screaming increased as the man waved at him from across the dusty street.

At least his stalker had the decency to show the color palette of a human and not a zombie.

"Don't tell me you got bored already? Hasn't it only been a few years?"

They were in a tavern. He needed a drink or twelve.

"Ten to the date actually."

A half sigh and half growl that really had no bite in it at all. "Well you have at least another decade before you can start any mischief here. I just got settled."

"Have you? Tell me all about it." Ordering them more food in silvers and gold. The former Exorcists snorted.

"You probably stole that."

"Created it myself actually, but you were going to tell how you've been ...."

"Fine. Fine! If only to get you to leave that much faster."

He was well beyond inebriated when the sun started to set. He didn't seem to care as it was on someone else's dime which was a rare occurrence indeed. He probably should have thanked his older, mischievous self for getting a wagon and letting him puddle in the back as he drove them home. Honestly, he didn't even remember giving him his address.

They talked on the way back about nothing and everything. Words always spilled easily between them after all. They knew enough of each others angels and demons that hiding any of them would be almost comical. It felt like only a few moments before the cart stopped in front of his house with his new family inside.

"Same time next year?" Said with a tip of his hat.

"So you are going to make this a yearly thing now?"

"Of course. If you'd like, that is?"

".... Yeah. I would."
