You are unique. Everyone but Skinn is present. [He doesn't mind him trailing behind. It's almost reassuring.]

But I can imagine what you might be feeling. On the station there are lots of the Order and none of us. We're alone.

Mmmm. I find life to be better surrounded by non-Exorcists even if we are alone. They just seem to get in the way and make little opportunities for new friends.

I would prefer it that way too. Even the beautiful women aboard or 'new friends' are so tightly closed and full of 'morales' they go without sex for months. A bit strange.

[The center of the 'town' will be reached. Still no one, but there is a huge bonfire in the middle where the smoke was coming from and a barrel of fruit near it. Above it is a pig on a stick slightly overcooked. Dozens and dozens of footprints head off into one direction.

Tyki wanders over and snags a pear.]

[Not to mention their powers keep them clean and dry most of the time, at least on the skin.]

I had someone but they recently died due to our clone sickness. [He was really fond of that girl, or as close as someone like him could get. He sniffs once he gets there and heads right towards the pig, poking it to check the skin. Just going to slip his hand inside for the tastier meat.] Hmm.

[Gives a new meaning to the words 'finger food'. A bit tough for being on the fire too long, but still good.

Tyki is going to come by and watch as he does that and eat his fruit.]

Only time I've ever gone even close is when I went comatose and that was a full memory update and a headache. Only once though. I've seen pests drop more than that. But dropping dead, not a chance.

[Doesn't it? Tyki isn't wearing gloves, so he'll get hands on it with, pulling it out and chewing on it. Yeah, a bit tough but good.]

I try not to think about it too much. If I do, I go off the deep end, especially when I think of Road.

[She's gone twice and both times it has hit him hard enough things turn sour fast. Especially the last one where she gave him her remaining time in that event when he was sleeping...]

Would be best. [It doesn't take much effort to pluck it free, and afix it to something else.]

[Losing the Earl wasn't as hard as losing Road. He really would like it better if there was another Noah, even Cyril and his close contact.]

[Tyki will wander in and out of the various houses. He'll even pass a crude looking knife to the other man as he walks from one to the other.]

They all seem to have left in a hurry the way things are set up. Definitely didn't pack up and leave.

I wonder what spooked them.

[He looks down at the knife and runs his fingers over it. It looked rather taken care of.]

I wonder if it was something dangerous or maybe a passing boat? That is if they aren't native to this place.

Something dangerous. Now wouldn't that be exciting.

[Leaning against a tree as he waits for the other to finish eating.]

They left in that direction. We could check when you are done. No need to hurry since they already have a head start.

It kind of makes me curious. If it is actually something dangerous, where are they running to or are they just endlessly running?

[Licking the edge of his fingers when he finishes, he'll use a half bucket of water to rinse off his hands.]

My, it is nice to have someone appreciate a little of the unexpected.

[They wave bye-bye to the town of good eatin' as they follow the tightly packed and many sets of footprints until they reach a clearing where the footprints simply stop in front of an altar. The altar is crude and made of stone. Four pedestals roughly in the shape of some four legged animal support each corner. Three are in a bowing position while one is rearing up.

For those with supernatural senses it feels odd and definitely has a residue of strong magic. For those without, it just looks bizarre.]

A portal?

In our case it is a little cheating, but I don't mind.

[Even with senses, that definitely looked a little bizarre. Tyki without fear steps forward and kicks the edge of it with his toe, tapping it lightly. He rubbed the edge of his hair near his scalp, messing up his hair in thought.]

Doesn't look like the Ark, but maybe?

[Touching it will get the air above the alter to shimmer like looking through water. Tyki walks up and sticks a hand in it. It disappears and he is able to pull his hand back without any loss of limb. A grin spreads across his face. Yes, this will do nicely.]

[He watches the area above and looks at the water like effect, then down at his arm disappearing. Tyki made the mistake of moving closer for an inspection because then he was being pushed. Oh thanks, other self.

Tyki didn't even get a chance to retort before falling through.] That was dirty. Why do I trust you again?
