Tyki sat with one leg thrown over the other in the air while the eye of the fifth disciple burned brightly on his forehead. Below him was a musty hallway and an unremarkable carpet stained from entirely too much use.

Well, a carpet now further stained with patches of rust red and brown from the expired body slumped up against one wall.

Tyki knew what was going to happen next. It was his memory after all. Throughout the eons, he liked to go back and watch them. To remember them. To ensure he didn’t forget them. Memories were important to him in all shapes and sizes. They always would be.

A figure came later. Him from the past. His former self inspected the body affirming its status of deceased before slipping a pack of cards into the corpse’s pocket. Add in a little more light banter to no one in particular, and the Noah of days past stood up and with a tip of his hat deparated.

The memory should have ended at that moment, but Tyki held up his hand. The third eye on his head glowed brightly for a moment as he made his way down to the mundane carpet. He regarded the body with a soft smile and kneeled. The Noah trailed his fingers down the Exorcist’s chin. He couldn’t touch him. Couldn’t feel the lack of heat radiating from the corpse. This was a memory after all and he was nothing more than a ghostly spectator. And for once, he didn’t mind that he had a lack of choice in the matter.

“Could you have ever imagined we would have come this far? That our days of squabbles and laughter would become such a thing in the distant past. That your soul would get stuck not once but twice. That time would still continue long after our last meeting.”

Kneeling down further to brush his lips on the corpse’s forehead.

“Wherever you are now. I hope you are finally at peace.”
